Designers integrate the frameworks into your institution's aesthetic and branding. 

They alter the interface, modify multimedia, and help design new Activity Types.

HTML is a markup language used to build the structure of websites. It is used alongside CSS, a styling language, to create dynamic designs. 

  • altering CLIO and it's activities by editing templates and stylesheets

Graphic Design

Graphic design is the interdisciplinary branch between design and fine art focused on communication. 

  • understanding visual hierarchy when creating or adapting multimedia

Image Editor

There are many options for image editors, ranging from free and open source options like GIMP and PhotoPea, to commercial options like Adobe Photoshop.

UX/UI

User Experience and User Interface focus on the user through the creation of products, interfaces and experiences that feel good to use. 

  • Analyzing user relationship with the interactive activities 
  • Creating prototypes and wireframes for new activity types

Developer

Designers and Developers work closely during the iterative prototyping phases.

Designers create the interface design for a digital interactive while coordinating with Developers to program the interactive components.

Designers work closely with Makers during the fabrication of the final interactive. 

This can include selecting colors, textures and finishes for embedding the interactives into an exhibit.

Educator

Designers and Educators work together to incorporate educational outcomes into interactive experiences.  

This can include defining the interactive flow of an activity based of pedagogy techniques.

Facilitator

Designers work closely with Facilitators throughout evaluation to improve the experience during set-up and use. 

Facilitators can offer excellent insight into the ways Visitors use the interactives.

Designers interact with Visitors to understand their feelings about the interactives being created. 

This can be done through direct outreach or through collaboration with other Roles.
